Love Ends Disaster!
Love Ends Disaster! are an indie rock band heralding from Nottingham, England, made up of Suffolk-raised brothers Matt and Jon Dix, part-time Dolphin Trainer Matthew Oakes, Fine Artist Robert Sadler, and Blackpool- originating drummer, Peter Jones.
On the basis of their first demo, Volume I, recorded in 2003 and combining the Post-Rock of Mogwai, Talking Heads-inspired rythmns and cutting, spikey guitars reminiscent of Johnny Greenwood and Graham Coxon, the band were snapped up by High Wycombe's Denial Records, responsible for recording the first studio outing of Bloc Party ("Storm & Stress") in 2003.
2005 saw the release of the band's first (and now sold out) EP, Stories For The Dislocated, limited to 1000 copies on CD and containing the notable tracks Sendai, Ginko Disco and Warning:Robots. Recorded by Warren Bassett (The Fall, Bloc Party), the EP is testament to the bands feedback- saturated pop, sounding something like Interpol would if they were a little more experimental and had some fun now and again. The EP gathered momentum throughout 2005, gaining rave reviews from the likes of Rough Trade Shop and Drowned in Sound, drawing comparisons to British Sea Power, Talking Heads, Radiohead and Sonic Youth.
The group have since played with the likes of Babyshambles, Red Jetson, Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies, Polysics, Polytechnic.
